HIDEAWAY 2021 update.
Sometime this year, we are all uncertain when, we will be able to open the Hideaway to guests.
The Hideaway structure is up, the bathroom is in with large shower area, the toilet and sink are fitted. The electrics and boiler (yes, its heated too with instant hot water!) are finished and John’s finished painting the outside! Next is painting the inside and planning the kitchen for your comfort. We will have somewhere to cook and prepare food and a fridge to store the wine or prosecco and cream cakes! We have a sea theme going on inside with teal blues and shades of orange, two sofa beds which fold down into three quarter beds. There will be a small two seater table to dine, some music system (not my department!) and a TV for watching DVDs. We have Wi-Fi too! Books and games as regulations allow at the time and all the scenery you need for creative inspiration.
This is pet-free accommodation as we have pets and, because the Hideaway is accommodation for the workshops (not exclusively) we feel this is sensible for our guests. It can sleep 2 adults (possibly with plus one child on camp bed).
You don’t have to be arty to enjoy the delights of the Mull of Galloway, but there are options for various workshops or even the hire of the studio with/without tuition. The Mull of Gallery is on site too! I can offer minimum 2 nights stay at any time of the year. There is a lot of fishing, walking, cycling, and other activities in the area. Just email me to design your getaway! Who wont need some peace and quiet going into 2021? I’m very excited
On site is my studio next to the Hideaway and the gallery, The Mull of Gallery which houses 18 local and some invited guest artists. The possibilities for a creative getaway are endless….design your own or just come and stay and see what we do here!
The feature photo was taken recently of a Mull sunset
The second photo is the view of the Isle of Man from our garden
The third photo is the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse which is 2.5 miles by car or a good hours walk away
The fourth photo is our garden
The fifth photo is one of Auchie Glen which runs parallel with the road and our house which is a lovely circular walk of approx an hour
The last photo is Port Logan Bay, stunning picturesque bay about 15 minutes in the car but there are three beaches within walking distance, East and West Tarbet approx 35/40 mins and Portankill Bay 40 mins.
In the village there is a well stocked shop and cash machine/post office, and there are 2 local pubs in the village and a cafe.
Stranraer is 20 miles north with supermarkets etc and the nearest filling station for petrol.
Portpatrick is another picturesque seaside village with many cafes and restaurants. There are other outlaying restaurants within the region.
WHATEVER your needs or wants we can discuss and design your stay to suit you. Please email me mailto:lindaannirving@gmail.com
