Portankill Bay
Portankill Bay is just along the coast from my studio, it lies on the East coast of the Mull of Galloway. You have a wonderful ramble down a colourful pathway gently sloping down to the sea. Suddenly, the view opens out and there lies a rocky and beautiful beach. There are several huge rocks at the seas edge and this inspired the movement of the sea in this picture.
Wet felted and free stitched, it has wool nepps, mulberry silks and some silk laps in for texture. The rocks are free stitched with a copper coloured shiny thread.
